Co-Founder & Technical Lead

Ayobami Ayeni is the Co-founder and Technical Lead of Somalens, where he leads the engineering strategy and development of the platform's secure, scalable and user-centred technology. With more than seven years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer and technical leader, he has designed, built and modernised software platforms across enterprise, public-sector, fintech, edtech and SaaS environments. At Somalens, Ayobami combines deep technical expertise with a passion for using technology to improve access to personalised health support.

Joy Samuel

Co-Founder & Lead Product Designer

Joy Bachashe Samuel is the Co-founder and Lead UX Designer of Somalens. With over six years of experience in UI/UX design and a master's degree in Innovation and Information Technology, Joy leads the user experience and product design of Somalens. Her work focuses on transforming complex health information into simple, inclusive and accessible digital experiences. Driven by a belief that healthcare technology should work for everyone, she is passionate about inclusive innovation and women's health.

John Ademola

Chief Technology Officer

John Ademola is the Chief Technology Officer of Somalens, where he supports operational strategy, product delivery and the practical application of artificial intelligence across the platform. With over nine years of experience spanning machine learning, prompt engineering, natural language processing and retrieval-augmented generation systems, John specialises in transforming complex AI capabilities into intuitive, human-centred solutions. At Somalens, he helps bridge the gap between advanced health technology and the everyday needs of users.

How it works

The Somalens uses state-of-the art AI technology to deliver accurate diagnosis of patient symptoms through a chat assistant. The user simply inputs their symptoms or how they are feeling at a time and the chat assistant presents them with possible issues and their required treatment. This could range from home remedies, recommending rest, medication and in severe and complex cases, recommend the expertise of a physician.
